Daily Forecast: St. Maarten-St. Eustatius-Saba (SSS Islands)

Almanac

2011:
282 days in, 83 days remaining

Hurricane Season:
131 days in, 53 days remaining

Today's Temps
High: 87/31C, feels like 96F/36C
Low: 79F/26C, feels like 83F/28C

Local Weather
Partly cloudy & slightly breezy, with a brief shower or two.
Shower activity will remain minimal over the next couple of days, due to an area of high pressure extending across the Northeastern Caribbean. These brief and sporadic showers are likely to fall during the morning hours and should not cause street-flooding. Furthermore, a slight (warm) breeze with moderate to fairly choppy sea conditions will continue into the beginning of the week. Because of the above-normal seas, small craft operators & beach-goers should exercise caution in the surrounding waters.

  • Winds: are generally from the East at 8 to 15 miles per hour.
  • Seas: are moderate to fairly choppy with wave heights between 3 to 6 feet, and possibly up to 8 feet in some areas (mainly along the Northern shores). A Small Craft advisory is in effect until further notice, as seas are expected to peak tonight before slowly subsiding on Monday.

Tropical Weather
Active Storms: None.

* Tropical Storm Philippe lost its tropical characteristics last night and the National Hurricane Center has issued their last advisory on the system.
* A broad area of low pressure located across South Florida and the Bahamas has a medium (30%) chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 2 days. Regardless of development, showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds which currently spread throughout parts of Cuba, Hispaniola, the Bahamas, and South Florida are expected to continue as the system moves Northwestward at 5 to 10mph.
This system does NOT pose any threat to the local region.

Special Weather
None.

Outlook for tomorrow
Mostly Cloudy & HOT with a brief morning shower or two.
