Almanac

2011:
277 days in, 88 days remaining

Hurricane Season:
126 days in, 58 days remaining

Today's Temps
High: 87/31C, feels like 95F/35C
Low: 78F/26C, feels like 81F/27C

Local Weather
Mostly Sunny & HOT, with a brief shower or two possible & slightly breezy.
Fair weather conditions are expected to continue throughout the remainder of the week. However, a brief shower or two is still possible over parts of the SSS (and surrounding) Islands, due to moisture in the atmosphere associated with an area of low pressure located in the Southern Caribbean. Most of this shower and thunderstorm activity will remain well to the South of the local region. Furthermore, a slight (warm) breeze with gentle to moderate sea conditions will continue for the next few days, making it favorable for outdoor & beach activities.

  • Winds: are generally from the East at 5 to 15 miles per hour.
  • Seas: are moderate with wave heights between 3 to 5 feet, with the highest wave-action along the East-facing shores.

Tropical Weather
Active Storms: Tropical Storm Philippe.

* Tropical Storm Ophelia lost its tropical characteristics yesterday after making landfall in Newfoundland, Canada and was completely dissipated by this morning.
* As of 11am this morning, Tropical Storm Philippe was located about 665mi SSE of Bermuda with
winds of 65mph and is moving toward the West at 12mph. This system is also expected to 'flip-flop' in intensity over the next 48 hours, and may even briefly become a hurricane.
This system does NOT pose any threat to the local region or the rest of the Caribbean.

Special Weather
None.

Outlook for tomorrow
Partly Sunny & HOT with a shower or two possible.
