Hurricane Season:
163 days in, 21 days remaining

Today's Temps

Local Weather
Partly Sunny & HOT, with a possible afternooon shower or two & overnight showers.
An area of disturbance indirectly linked to Tropical Storm Sean (see below) is moving across the Eastern Caribbean, bringing showers and possible thunderstorms from time to time over parts of the SSS (and surrounding) islands during the next 24 hours. Some of these showers may be heavy and can therefore cause street-flooding in certain areas. Wind and Sea conditions may increase in and around showers, so the Small Craft Advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Therefore mariners (small crafts & beach-goers) should continue to exercise caution when traveling through these waters and passages.

  • Winds: are from the Southeast at 8 to 18 miles per hour, with occasional higher gusts.
  • Seas: are moderate to fairly choppy with wave heights between 3 to 7 feet, with the highest wave action along the Northern-facing shores.

Tropical Weather
Active Storms: Tropical Storm Sean.
* Tropical Storm Sean strengthened yesterday to winds of 65mph and may possibly reach hurricane-strength sometime today. TS Sean is located about 360mi West-SouthWest of Bermuda and is slowly moving toward the Northeast at 7mph.
This system does not pose a direct threat to the local region or the rest of the Caribbean.

Special Weather
None.

Outlook for St. Maarten Day
