Local Weather
Partly Cloudy and breezy, with a passing shower or two possible.
An area of dry air is moving into the local region and will limit the chances for showers for the next 24 to 36 hours. However, local effects such as daytime heating may still induce a passing shower or two over parts of the SSS (and surrounding) Islands. Furthermore, mariners (boaters & beach-goers) should continue to exercise caution in the open waters, as the Small Craft Advisory is still in effect.

  • Winds: are generally from the East at 10 to 25 miles per hour, with occasional higher gusts.
  • Seas: are moderate to fairly rough with wave heights between 3 to 6 feet, and gradually decreasing by tomorrow.

Tropical Weather
Active Storms: None.

A tropical wave, located in the Western Caribbean, is still showing signs of developing into a tropical depression (possibly by later today) and will minimally impact parts of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands through Saturday.
* Elsewhere, a tropical wave located almost mid-way between Africa and the Lesser Antilles is expected to reach the local region by the end of the weekend. This system is moving into warmer waters and conditions are becoming more favorable for development. However, it is still too soon to determine what land areas will be eventually affected.
* Additionally, a new tropical wave is over the extreme Northern tip of Africa and will emerge over the Atlantic Ocean during the next day or so. It is too soon to determine if this system will eventually develop.

Special Weather
None.

Outlook for tomorrow
Partly Cloudy and HOT, with a shower or two possible.
