Today's Weather Update As of Wedesday, 14 September, 2011 - 9:00am.

Almanac 2011: 257 days in, 108 days remaining Hurricane Season: 106 days in, 78 days remaining  Today's Temps High: 87/31C, feels like 94F/34C Low: 78F/26C, feels like 83F/28C Local Weather Partly Cloudy & HOT with a few brief showers possible, including a slight risk of thunder. Lingering moisture from a passing tropical wave may cause a couple showers over parts of the SSS (and surrounding) Islands during the next 24 hours. Fair weather is expected throughout the remainder of the week, with a minor chance for a couple brief showers. Furthermore, wind and sea conditions remain moderate. Mariners (especially small-craft operators) are still urged to use caution when traveling through the surrounding waters. Winds: are generally from the Southeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour, with occasional higher gusts. Seas: are moderate with wave heights between 3 to 5 feet, with the highest wave action along the Eastern-facing shores. Tropical Weather Active Storms: Tropical Storm Maria. * The center of Tropical Storm Maria is moving further away from the local region as it races past Bermuda and on into the open waters of the Northern Atlantic Ocean. This system currently poses no threat to the SSS islands, and this is our final update on this system. * A weak tropical wave located near the Cape Verde Islands shows little to no signs of organization; but eventual development cannot be ruled out. We will monitor the progress of this system, as it is about 5 days away from the local area. Special Weather  None.
