Local Weather
Variably Cloudy & HOT, with a few brief showers and a slight risk of thunder, mainly during the afternoon to evening hours.
Lingering moisture in the atmosphere may still induce a few brief passing showers over parts of the SSS (and surrounding) Islands, mainly during the afternoon to evening hours. Due to the already saturated soil conditions, minor street-flooding may still occur, and everyone should use caution on the roadways. Furthermore, wind and sea levels will remain moderate for the next couple of days. Small-craft operators should however still use caution over the open waters.
- Winds: are generally from the East at 5 to 15 miles per hour, with occasional higher gusts.
- Seas: are moderate with wave heights between 3 to 5 feet, with the highest wave action near showers and along the Eastern-facing shores.
Tropical Weather
Active Storms: None.
* A tropical wave located midway between Africa and the Lesser Antilles has become better organized and now has a high (60%) chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 to 48 hours. This slow-moving system is forecast to affect the Northeastern Caribbean as a possible tropical storm by late this week and into the weekend. We will continue to monitor the progress of this system as it crosses the Atlantic Ocean.
Special Weather
None.
Outlook for tomorrow
Mostly Cloudy & HOT, with a brief shower or two possible.
